You've probably seen the BLIP Keytag, Window Decal, or Counter Display at one of your favorite local businesses and wondered "How does this work? Or, perhaps you've seen the BLIP directory page in the Buy Local Magazine and thought, "What the BLIP is this?". It is really very simple. Participating local businesses offer a discount or promotion to anyone that shows the BLIP Keytag when they make a purchase.

There is no cost or filling out paperwork to get a BLIP Keytag. Just go to one of the participating merchants, look for the counter display and take one. Or, ask an employee. They'll be happy to get one for you.

Participating businesses must be locally owned independent or franchise businesses with eight or less locations and one of these locations must be in the "BLIP Town". Businesses without a physical location (or retail store) must have over 50% of company sales orginating from the "BLIP Town", have a dedicated full-time employee that resides in the "BLIP Town", or be a member of the local Chamber of Commerce.

When you Buy Local It Pays in so many ways. It helps keep taxes low and property values high. It increases charitable giving, creates jobs, and grows the local economy. If that's not enough, you should Buy Local because local businesses owners are also your neighbors and friends. Wouldn't you want them to support you?
